Ashburn is home to the Washington Redskins as well as a diverse group of businesses such as Verizon, Howard Hughes Medical Institute at Janelia Farm, and Old Dominion Brewing Company. The planned World Trade Center at One Loudoun, a mixed-use project including office space, a luxury hotel, retail business and residential neighborhoods, promises to bring as many as 14,000 new jobs to the region. Ashburn's convenient location provides direct access to Dulles International Airport and downtown DC via the Dulles Greenway, Route 7 and Route 28.
As of November 9, 2009, there were 391 active listings in Ashburn. During the month of October, 2009, there were 102 closed residential sales (up from 97 sales in September), 130 new listings and 137 new pending sales. The average sales price was $382,665 (down from $424,550 in September); the median sales price was $350,000 (down from $380,000 in September); the average number of days on market was 40 (down from 43 in September).
